March SOL 1

At least when Sarah sings it it sounds good.

I wish that IS kids understood logic better. Or at least three of them, the ones singing "Part of Your World" at the top of their lungs. If you didn't witness the incident, I won't name any names. It already goes through my head that much. They just make it worse. I had to sing it what feels like a hundred times today. Or at least a few lines. I would like to kill whoever wrote them. They are badly written and we have to sound happy. Now they can walk, Now they can run, Now they can stay all day in the sun. Really? At least those weren't the lines that the little IS kids were singing.

The Original Sin

Sally Sin, a.k.a. Lucy Parks Hamilton, is an ex-spy for the United States Agency for Weapons of Mass Destruction, or USAWMD. She fell in love and realized that she was mentally tired and just wanted a normal life. Now, several years later, she is happily married with a three year old son. What her husband Will and son Theo don't know is her past. They don't know that she always sits in a coffee shop across from Theo's preschool to make sure that no suspicious figures try to kidnap or kill him. They don't know that she carries a gun with her wherever she goes. They don't know that her deadly arch-nemesis Ian Blackford has just been confirmed alive and looking for her.

Contains violence, mature topics and swearing.

Stars Above

Before the Lunar Chronicles, much backstory remind barely touched by the books.  Stars Above goes into much more detail on those things. What happened to Cinder before she lost her memory? What did Kai think in the meeting in Book 1, Chapter 1? What were Scarlet's, Wolf's, Cress's, Thorne's, and Winter's childhoods like? And what happened once the series was over? Find out in Stars Above. Warning: many spoilers.

Fairest

Queen Levana is the villain of the Lunar Chronicles. But even antagonists should have a chance to share their own stories.
Levana was born into the Lunar royal family with two parents and an older sister who thought torturing her- or rather, forcing her to torture herself- was fun. When her parents died, she thought that she might finally get a bit of freedom. But her sister Channary was just as terrible a ruler as their parents were. She then met Evret Hayle, and fell in love with him at first sight. But he was already married, and Levana knew she could never compete with his wife and win. This is the story of an antagonistic villain, and is as sad as so. I also give it a far more mature rating.

" Mirror, mirror, on the wall.
Who is the Fairest of them all?

Come close and I shall tell you a tale-
My Queen's dark secrets I've longed to unveil.

Her greed may have led her to steal and kill,
While her wickedness drove her to break a man's will.

But the greatest tragedy I've yet to expose
Is that she did it all for love...
                                                           so our story goes.

Should my portrayal of the Queen you ever wish to deny,
Know that I'm naught but a mirror. I cannot lie."

Cress

Cress is a shell- a Lunar born with no bioelectrical manipulation, or, in simpler words, no Lunar ability to change her appearance and  manipulate others' minds and bodies. She has been allowed to survive because she is an excellent hacker and programmer. She lives on a satellite going around the Earth and moon. When she is given a task by the Moon's Queen Levana to find the sixteen year old rebel Linh Cinder, her accomplice Carswell Thorne, and their friend Scarlet Benoit, she hides them instead. When she receives a comm from them, she finally gets hope of getting out.

Violence but no swearing or mature themes.

Awkward Poems

Prompted poems can be difficult,
Even if they don't come across as an insult.
It may appear that you were raised in barbarism.
So you should practice writing without plagiarism.
Many times you may need to consult an adult.
I need a sentence with catapult.

What If and Escaping Peril

Two for one! Normally I would just do one blog, but Escaping Peril is so awesome it deserves 10000 blogs, and everyone knows I read it 2 weeks ago.

What If is an amazing, funny book that demonstrates what would happen when someone with extreme scientific knowledge becomes an Internet cartoonist and answers silly hypothetical questions submitted to him. Questions include:

  • How much Force power does Yoda have?
  • What would happen if you made a Periodic Table of the Elements out of cube bricks of each element?
  • What would happen if a pitcher threw a baseball at 90% the speed of light?

Escaping Peril is book eight of the Wings of Fire series. Peril has lived her whole life killing other dragons. It didn't bother her until she met Clay. Then her whole life went upside down. She was banished from her home, the person she served went missing, and she is expected to be careful of injuring other dragons with her deadly firescales, instead of them watching out for her. Then she meets Turtle on a mission to impress Clay, get redeemed in the eyes of everyone, and have her banishment revoked. The annoying SeaWing is the only one to like her besides Clay (and Sunny, though she finds the SandWing to annoying to consider a friend), and is determined to follow her on the mission. Peril learns to wonder what makes her herself, and what makes a dragon a hero.
